Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: [TO BE FILLED] Last Updated: 2026-07-21

This Cancellation Policy explains how a client or worker can cancel a job on WorkQuora, and what happens as a result. For the specific amounts refunded or paid out at each stage, see our Refund Policy — this document covers the process.

1. Who can cancel

Either the client or the worker assigned to a job may request cancellation while the job is in progress (after a proposal has been accepted). A job that has not yet been accepted by a worker can simply be withdrawn or left unaccepted by the client at no cost — see the first row of our Refund Policy's table.

2. How cancellation works in the app

To cancel a job that is already in progress, both the client and the assigned worker need to confirm the cancellation through the app. When one party requests cancellation, the other party is notified. Once both sides have confirmed, the job is marked cancelled and the applicable refund/payout under our Refund Policy is processed.

If only one party requests cancellation and the other does not confirm, the job remains open and the requesting party's cancellation request stays pending. If you and the other party cannot reach agreement on cancelling — for example, a worker wants to cancel unilaterally after reaching your location, or a client wants to cancel after work has begun — raise it through our dispute process (Section 5) rather than leaving the job stuck; WorkQuora will review the situation and apply the outcome your case falls under in the Refund Policy table, including the "worker cancels the job themselves" or "cancelled midway through the work" scenarios where applicable, even where the app's mutual-confirmation flow alone would not otherwise resolve it.

3. Stage of cancellation matters

The refund and payout amount depends on exactly when the cancellation happens — before the worker accepted, after acceptance but before departure, after the worker arrived at your location, or midway through the work — as set out in full in our Refund Policy. Be accurate about the stage when you raise a cancellation or dispute; where the two parties disagree on the stage reached, WorkQuora will look at available evidence (chat history, timestamps, in-app status changes) to determine it.

4. Repeated cancellations

WorkQuora tracks cancellation patterns. A worker who cancels jobs repeatedly is subject to a penalty under our policy, up to and including account suspension, reviewed and applied at WorkQuora's discretion — see Section 3 of our Refund Policy and our Compliance Report for the current state of automated enforcement of this rule. A client who cancels jobs in a pattern that suggests misuse of the Platform (for example, to obtain work started and then avoid paying for it) may likewise have their account reviewed.

5. Disputes over a cancellation

If you disagree with how a cancellation was handled — the stage determination, the refund amount, or the other party's conduct — raise it through the in-app dispute option or contact us as described in our Grievance Redressal Policy. Include any relevant details (timestamps, messages, photos) to help us resolve it quickly.

6. Completed jobs cannot be "cancelled"

Once both parties have marked a job complete, it cannot be cancelled or reversed through this process — see our Refund Policy for how disputes about completed work are handled instead.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cancellation Policy from time to time, including the cancellation process and penalty framework, with notice to users.
