Cookie Policy

Effective Date: [TO BE FILLED] Last Updated: 2026-07-21

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies WorkQuora's website (workquora.com and our admin panel) actually sets. It does not describe hypothetical or typical website cookies — every cookie listed below was confirmed by reviewing our website's code, and nothing beyond this list is in use as of the date above.

Our mobile applications (the client app and worker app) do not use browser cookies at all — cookies are a web-browser concept. The mobile apps store your session using device-local secure storage instead, which this Cookie Policy does not cover (see our Privacy Policy for how mobile sessions work).

1. Cookies we set

Cookie Set by Lifetime Type Purpose
jwt WorkQuora website 1 hour Strictly necessary Keeps you signed in for the duration of your session
refreshToken WorkQuora website 30 days Strictly necessary Allows your session to be renewed without logging in again
adminAccessToken WorkQuora admin panel 15 minutes Strictly necessary Keeps staff signed in to the internal admin panel
adminRefreshToken WorkQuora admin panel 7 days Strictly necessary Allows an admin session to be renewed

All four cookies above are set to httpOnly (they cannot be read by website scripts, including malicious ones) and are transmitted only over secure connections in production. They exist purely to keep you authenticated — they are not used to track you across other websites, build an advertising profile, or share data with any advertising network.

2. Why these are set even though our website mainly uses another method

Our website's own code primarily authenticates you using a token stored in your browser's local storage, sent with each request — not by reading the cookies above. The cookies are nonetheless set as a side effect of how our login system communicates with our server, and because they are technically present in your browser, we disclose them here in full rather than only disclosing the mechanism our own code actively reads back.

3. Cookies we do NOT use

We do not use any third-party analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics), advertising or retargeting cookies (such as Meta Pixel), or behavioral-tracking cookies (such as Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity). As of this Policy's effective date, no such tool is integrated into our website. If this changes in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated before any such cookie is set, and — where required by applicable law — we will request your consent first.

4. Managing cookies

Because the cookies we set are strictly necessary for you to stay logged in, blocking or deleting them will simply log you out or prevent login — there is no optional/non-essential cookie category on our website today for you to selectively disable. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser's settings; you will need to log in again afterward.

5. Local storage (not a cookie, disclosed for completeness)

Our website also uses your browser's local storage (not a cookie) to remember your light/dark theme preference and, on our own website's side, your session token as described in Section 2. Local storage data stays on your device and is not automatically sent to us with every request the way a cookie is; it is not used for tracking.

6. Changes to this Policy

If we add any new cookie — including any analytics or advertising cookie — we will update this Policy first, and will seek your consent where required by applicable law before setting a non-essential cookie.

7. Questions
